Digital Video with Linux is still cutting edge technology, and things may not work as expected.

In case something goes wrong, please do this:

If the software does not compile, check whether you have all required libraries and include files, and whether the releases match. The configure script should verify all prerequisites, but it might miss something.

Compiler and linker error messages are usually easy to interpret, so you might find the problem yourself if you try.

You can of course browse the discussion forums too. It is very likely that somebody already has encountered the very same problem and that a solution already exists.

If everything else fails, write a new message in the discussion forum. Be sure to provide specific information, including kernel and device driver version, Kino or dvgrab version, your Linux distribution, and of course any error messages or a detailed description of the symtoms.

The Linux Digital Video Discussion Forum is at http://www.kinodv.org/dcforum/dcforum.
