My Samsung MiniDV that I had for three years and hiccupped with any 1394 device
fried from just charging and rewinding a dv tape at the same time. I bought a new Canon Elura 60 and it works great with Kino!
If your looking for a camera that's very usable with Kino then the Canon Elura 60 might be the one for you. I just got one, make sure you don't pay more than $399.00 for it. I managed to get it for that at
Sears. The only problem I had was that I forgot to set DMA on my video drive, so I dropped frames. I turned DMA on and problem solved. I can use all the AV/C conrols without a problem.
